The plant was shut down for maintenance for 8 hours. During that time the old expansion joint had to be removed and the new one installed. Nominal diameter of the expansion joint was 3000 mm. One hour of an unplanned downtime of the plant would have cost a lot of money. The Kompenz-Elastic installation team completed the installation 2 hours earlier. The expansion joint has been put into operation.
